Kitten shook his head in a form of laughter. But quickly became serious and could hear the fabrics under the bed and picked up the scent. He looked at the queen and his eyes sparked with deadly interested. “ I see, I see indeed.” He said looking down at the half sleeping Viviene. Sniffing the air he moved off of her and then placed a paw on her cheek, putting pressure. “ She out cold…” He chirped as the now sleeping girl was muttering things in her sleep. She was surprisingly still and a sweet smile was playing at her lips.
(( Must depart may sneak on at random times but no promises I’m sorry.))

A slight flush blossomed on Aven's cheeks as Kitten realized the reason for her actions. "It's probably for the best; she must be exausted," the queen told the meerkat.
((me too, otherwise I'd write more. Be back soon!))

Kitten nodded as the girl seemed peaceful for once. "She will have to awaken soon, so we can get some food and such in her." Kit said as he groomed his paws, it felt good for them to walk on warm floors again.

Aven turned as the doors opened and several maids whirled into the rooms, wearing Aven's house colors of deep, royal purple and shimmering gold in stripes down the skirts. The bodices had gold and purple roses embroidered across the left chest and shoulder area; the queen's house sigil. Several of the maids carried platters towered high with a myriad of covered dishes and large pitchers full of variating liquids, different aromas from each wafting from each. Two or three of the maids held a large selection of court-appropriate dresses, ranging from the elaborate to the simple, in all colors of the rainbow and more, and all in Viv's size. The rest of the maids clutched bucketfulls of steaming water to their chests or leaned the buckets against their hips. The last made a beeline for the bronze bathtub in the next room, while the rest stayed behind. The dresses were laid out upon one of the plush armchairs, and the platters were balanced precariously on the many endtables and desks throughout the lavish room. And then, just as quickly as they had come, they were gone. Kyo had not moved from the bedside throughout the entire preparation.

Kitten watched as the maids came and left. Viviene opened her eyes to see the room blurry; she almost instantly panicked as she lurched up with a fearful face. But then noticing Kitten and Kyo she calmed. Sighing she laid back down looking at the ceiling, Kitten looked from Kyo to Viviene. “ She missed you know.” Kitten said to Kyo alone.

Kyo turned to Kitten for only a moment and nodded briefly before turning back to Viv. "I think the bear-hug gave it away," he told the meerkat quietly, a slight smile on his lips. Aven danced around the room, lifting the lids from covered dishes to be sure the food underneath was presentable, and nibbling away at a bit of it to be sure it was edible as well. Finally satisfied that all was well, she prepared a small tray with a bowl full of a thick beef stew, prepared with steamed vegetables as well; a tray of buttermilk biscuits, butter gleaming slightly in the light; warm, sweetened tea, just the way many children seemed to like it (though Aven couldn't understand why; she had always drank her tea unsweetened); and some stickybuns and honeycakes for desert. The rest of the food she left for later; one couldn't possible eat all the kitchen had prepared!

Kitten chuckled in his own native tongue. Nuzzling Viviene on the cheek she petted him on the neck as she looked around fascinated with the world around her. She smiled at Aven and Kyo with a heartwarming flash of her teeth. She then looked slightly worried as her smile bleed away. Kitten picking up on the sudden worry of his bonded gave a confused glare.

"When you're done eating, there is a bath waiting for you just in there," Aven told the girl, pointing a slender finger at the door the maids with the water had gone into. "The water is very warm, and there is soap and scented oils. If you want, we can leave you be?"

Viv nodded and took some food sniffing it then tasting the sweet flavors. She also drank the tea that warmed her body as she closed her eyes admiring the wonderful taste. Kitten got small bites of food and drank what was left of the tea. Once Viviene had finished she just smile. “You don’t have to leave. “ She said she enjoyed the comfort. Standing up sleepily the girl moved into the other room. The maids had left and the water was steaming warm. She could see no one as she left Kitten outside the door. Staking off her old raged clothing, and placing her bracelet Aven had given her and slipped into the bath. She let the heat warm her freezing bones as she put her head under the water and started to try and clean the mess.

Aven watched Viv go into the other room. She couldn't believe it. They had actually found the small girl! She basked in the accomplishment for a few moments before turning to Kyo. "You know we have to leave her again," she said. Kyo nodded. "Soon." Another nod. "And you know we may never see her again." One final, solemn nod. Kyo stood and crossed the room to the door. "Kyo, are you sure you want to go through with this?" Aven asked. "Do I really have a choice any longer?" And he was gone.

Once the girl was clean she found the towels and wrapped herself in them and tried to dry her hair and body best she could. Once that task was complete she found her clothing and looked at it then found the clothing Aven’s maids had brought. She slipped into them and looked at herself, she felt different. “ Kitten?” She asked voice low and soft. The Meerkat looked over his shoulder and blinked. “ Huh?” He asked in a sharp chirp. “ Could you please get me my bracelet?” She asked as she struggled to get a sock on her right foot. The Meerkat gave a chuckle and quickly ran to the bracelet and carefully clenched it in his teeth. Then he brought it over to the girl who had at last managed to get her sock on.
“ Putting on socks looks and sounds dangerous.” The Meerkat commented as Viviene smiled and came into the room Aven was. She immediately noticed Kyo’s absence. “Where did Kyo go?” She asked voice almost a squeak as she still searched the room. Kitten looked at her and only chirped a small note that said ‘stop looking, he is no longer in the room’. Viv looked at the Meerkat and then to Aven.

"I'm not completely sure... he didn't say," Aven told the girl. She smiled and went on: "But I'm sure he'll be back soon. Don't worry." It was a lie.
Kyo slowly made his way down the slightly chilly hallways of the palace, the drab grey stone barely brightened by the lavish tapestries that plastered the walls. He had only just found Viv again, and he had to leave already! It just didn't seem fair. He regretted having pushed her away wholeheartidly, but it had been necessary. As it would be this time. He only hoped he wouldn't have to leave Aven behind, too. The half-demon's brisk stride carried him quickly to the stables, where he retrieved the gelding he had been riding before. He mounted the roan quickly, leaning down to quietly tell the stablehand he hadn't been there and pressing a silver penny into the boy's hand. The boy nodded and turned away as he rode out of the palace gates. Ten minutes saw him cantering out of the inner city, the clatter of the horse's hooves on cobblestones giving way to the clumping of the hooves on hard-packed dirt. He reigned in the roan, turning it 'round as he gazed back at the castle. He stared at the leftmost tower, watching the windows. Finally, he saw what he was watching for. A small, emerald bit of cloth fluttered in the wind, the corner caught in the shutters. She was coming. Kyo smiled slightly, turned his horse back around, and flicked the reigns. The gelding immediately took off at a gallop. If he turned back now... All would be lost.
Aven turned to Viv, leaving the vermillion handkerchief where it hung. "I have to go. I... I have to go... umm... train some... servants." The fairy winced. She was horrible at lying. "I'll be back. Just... Stay here." She slipped out the door, closing it behind her and leaning against it for a moment as she steadied herself. Letting out a slow breath, she stood straight again and began striding down the hallway. Her silk skirts, divided for riding, whispered as they rubbed against eachother. She felt her eyes growing watery. She would not cry! She would maintain her composure! She. Would. Not. CRY! A tear slipped down her cheek. There was no turning back.

"Kyo?"
Relle had given up on trying to get into the palace- she was bruised a bit, and scraped, but she'd kept all her fingers attached when the guards foiled every single attempt at entrance. She needed to speak to Aven, and she rubbed the silver mark on her arm as if it would bring her right to the queen. She'd brought herself to the outer city, after her failed attempt, and filched a new outfit and a necklace (that made three!). She'd also filled her stumach for what felt like the first time since she was marked by the goddes. {Silly, ungreatful thing of a goddess} She thought on that note. "Kyo? What's the matter? Where's Aven? I though you where inseperable." Without hesitation she walked up to the purple-haired man and laid a hand on his horse soit wouldn't bolt, her words dripped with dry sarcasm, if tinted slightly by a bit of humanly concern. "You're upset? What's happened?" Lord twisted his way out of her pocket and up her shirt to get his spot on her shoulder, he looked at the half-demon and then his horse in equal disdain, sniffing the air. {I Smell that meerkat. And the girl} "Vivienne?" She asked, shocked, and stepped away to try and catch Kyo's eyes and glare, wholeheartedly, at him. "Where the hell did she come from? I though we'd gotten rid of her magic-abusing little ass!"
"Eamon, Ishara? I don't think you ever told me what was going on. Where are the others? " She whipped her head around, Bells had gotten into something else and needed a quick scolding, and then Margot looked back at the women. "Please do share whatever wisdom you've gained." she put her hands on her hips, exasperated, and wondered why they'd come all this way just to find a battlefield and no sign of the rest of the marked anywhere. I mean, honestly, you'd think this would be a bit easier if it had worked out that way. "And, or course, whatever decision you've made on the account of me and the rest of our group." "I'd hope to have some say in whatever we're going to do, because I'm rather sore, and resting would be fine." Asha rubbed his tail, then sighed. "Eamon, has your bird found anything?"
(ohdear... I actually posted something.) (Sorry if it totally sucks. )

((yay! someone roleplaying other than me and Sage! What a miracle!))
Kyo looked down at Relle, the theif trying to hold his gaze. "It's none of your concern," he told her coldly. "Now, kindly release my horse."
Eamon wheeled her horse around, facing Margot and Asha. "Tallanvor says there's no sign of them up ahead, but there was a large group of people headed the other way. They've already reached Armylia and they're not going anywhere. That's probably the group. Now, answer me this: Why would the group of people so bent on making sure we fail give up and turn back so suddenly? Because they know something we don't. Now, if Miss 'I-Used-To-Be-A-Noble' and Sir 'Snake-Butt' are finished causing delays, we have a quest to continue." With that, the Windfinder wheeled her horse around and continued the brisk pace.

"I think it is some of my concern!" She said, and only reached up to catch a better grip on the horse's reigns. "If you're bringing that little twit along, or just plain leaving without me and the others, then I think you should have notified us." She dropped the attempt to look Kyo in the eyes to focus on his horse, she was finally showing how hurt she was at the idea that he and Aven were just going to run off without her; in the form of a pout and very very sad puppy-dog eyes.
Margot wanted to hit something. "You crazy old coot! Just because you're bitter and cynical doesn't mean you can hit on someone's insecurities! That's completely uncalled for! I was just trying to get an idea of what in the Goddess's name you had us going about!" She put her hands on her hips and lowered her head, she was NOT going to cry in front of these people. Asha just shrugged and moved on, he'd gotten the same name from the thief who'd made him into target practice.
